Basic Storyboard
Two young boys are running in the woods to practice for a track meet. The darkness and forest around them begins to play tricks on their minds, but they continue to run onward, thinking it's just a simple illusion. Once they are finished, they both return to the school, getting cleaned up and taking showers. One of them walks to their locker, just to find a surprise waiting for him. The other goes out to the car, and is broken away from his relaxation by strange noises and unusual shadows. Confused and muddled, they both hurry to the car, frightened. After some panted breaths and quick words, they begin to drive away. Was there truly something there that night? To them, it was only a couple of twilight illusions...

Purpose Statement

When making this video, we allowed the overall evening of events to be interpreted in two different ways. First, it introduces you to the natural adaptations an individual's mind may take when put into a certain situation. In the modern world, we commonly associate darkness and the unknown with fear and uneasiness, internally commanding our brains to see illusions, feel vulnerable, and never be at full rest. The second topic, which sort of leads from the first described here, is human behavior. With the horror movies, wars, and acts of terror occurring on a daily basis at the dawn of this century, it's not difficult for us to assume that even in our own communities, where we feel most secure, that a hint of danger is always lurking in the surroundings, ready to strike. Through this video, we hope to further expose the natural workings of the mind, and how these changes can be set into motion by setting and current events.
