I chose John Sculley because he worked with men, such as Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and other huge leaders to help change the world. He was a part of Pepsi for a long time, until he joined Apple. He's a great public speaker, and has helped Apple grow imensely. I thought it would be interesting to learn more about him since he was such a great part of the company. He helped change the world of technology.

The Importance of John Sculley

  • John Sculley had been vice-president at PepsiCo, where he had made Pepsi the number one brand in the Cola Wars.
  • Sculley was Chairman of the National Institute for Education & the Economy.
  • He was recruited by Steve Jobs to be Apple CEO from 1983 to 1993; during the time where Apple was the largest selling PC in the world.

What I Learned About John Sculley

I learned that John Sculley was recruited to be apart of Apple by Steve Jobs. John used to be the vice-president at PepsiCo, but decided that wouldn't get him very far for the rest of his life. He helped Apple succeed, by taking part in launching 'Macintosh, 'Desktop Publishing' and 'Powerbook'. Steve Jobs, and John Sculley began to argue about the drop in Macintosh sales. Sculley dismissed Steve from his positions as the vice-president and the leader of the Macintosh division.
