20 Things Week 2

attributes

In the second week, we began to learn how to use attributes and what they are used for. Now we are starting to put it into practice with this website. Some of the id attributes requirements are:

However, we did not only learn how to use attributes. We also are learning semantics.

Semantics

When we are learning tags, they are usually no different than our normal tags. The tags are suggest to help define the structure of a web page such as this one. There were some tags like these:

  1. article
  2. section
  3. header
  4. nav
  5. footer
There are more tags that are like semantics,

The reason there are many of these tags like a video tag is because of HTML5. Without it we would have to be doing everything the hard way. Without the video tag we did not really have access to videos. But when they released HTML5 we got access to it, along with all the other tags.

cookies

Many sites use cookies such as:

  1. Online Shopping Carts
  2. Sites that allow you to save your username and password
  3. Some email sites that keep you logged into your email, such as gmail
Cookies make using the internet much easier. They remember what sites you have been on that way when you change sites and you didn't log out, you can come back and still be logged in because of the fact that we have cookies.

Viruses and Malware

Viruses When you search for things on the web you obviously be going to all types of websites. Well some of these websites are not so great. They can contain viruses or hidden malware that will attack and destroy your computer.

Malware and Viruses?

Malware is Malicious software that attacks your computer's hard drive in attempt to steal your personal information.

Viruses are kind of like Malware only that a virus will only attack your computer and try and corrupt your computer.

There are ways to stop a virus by using one of the many antivirus programs or software.

Antivirus is a type of software that blocks and scans for viruses on your computer.

However you need to be careful because some antivirus programs will block viruses and malware, but also slow your computer down incredibly.

Free Antivirus is almost as bad as the malware or virus you are trying to block.

For safety measures even if you have an antivirus program, do not click on any popup ads, or side ads that look suspicious.

Pop-up Ads are ads that appear on the side of websites that try to get you to click on them such as winning a free iphone/ipad

There is the possibility that people want to steal your pin your number. You have to check the validity of a website, to make sure that you are not just typing in your bank username and password into a fake website. Be ready for any type of Malicious Software.
