By Air By Rail The "By Air By Rail festival is a festival put on by the FMM Chamber of Commerce. This festival is an annual festival that helps promote the FMM Chamber of Commerce. The Initial By Air, By Rail Festival was held July, 2005 as a way of promoting the chamber, its members, and our communities as well as a way to bring the communities together. It included 1/2 dozen Hot Air Balloons, 8500 sq. ft. of model train displays, a single LEGO display, and a handful of vendors. The second By Air, By Rail Festival was held July 21-23rd, 2006 and included the above attractions and expanded to include 10,000 sq. ft. of LEGO displays, additional vendors and crafters, powered parachutes, and an entertainment stage. The third annual By Air, By Rail Festival was held July 20-22, 2007 and expanded to include, in addition to attractions from the previous years, more model train and LEGO displays, the Indiana Transporation Museum, flight simulators from Grissom Air Force base, a train for children to ride throughout the festival, more vendors and crafters, and artwork from students at Mt. Vernon High School. The event is now scheduled for the next 10 years on the 3rd weekend of July. Attached are the dates for the festival for the next 10 years. It continues to grow and expand and people from our communities as well as from other states and communities continue to attend the festival as it continues to grow.
