Emphasis

Sometimes, you might have a photograph with emotions you really want to emphasize. As for the case of my next image, I wanted to enhance the dramatic effect of the screaming woman.

Again, I used the Rectangular Selection Tool and drew a rectangle framing the woman's face and cropped my selection to this section. You can see that this instantly brings a stronger sense that the danger, which has the woman terrified, is drawing near. This is an old cinematic trick that can be applied to photographs to emphasize the emotion within.
