I have been playing guitar since the fifth grade, but I have only played seriously for the last four or five years. I have always been
a fan of Les Pauls and bought my first one when I was probably eleven or twelve. It was a used Epiphone for $100. It was a good guitar to
start with, but when I was older around fourteen years old I realized it was trash and saved money for awhile to buy the Honeyburst Epiphone
Les Paul Standard. When I turned sixteen a family friend gave me a blonde top Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Hughes and Kettner Switchblade
100 Combo. These were two milestones in my playing because I was not simply awarded them. Mr. Ingle, our family freind, struck a deal with
me that if I continued to progress to a certain point, he would buy me a real Gibson Les Paul. I was surprised with it a month after he
surprised me with the amplifier when I turned sixteen.
